Google doesn’t want to see your id

Google says:

Don’t use “&id=” as a parameter in your URLs, as we don’t include these pages in our index.

Wow, that’s big. I can’t think of how many sites I see that are basically one ‘page’ with ?id=aboutus. I used to do it, and have since realized how important SEF URLs are.

Don’t Click It

Navigate and explore an alternate reality where clicking is not necessary…. just make sure you Don’tClick.it.

This reminds me of two flash experiments I did a long, long time ago (2001).

The Daughters of Freya- An Emailed Mystery

How cool is this idea? Similar to the ARGs Majestic game I played awhile back or the i love bees game for Halo 2, but definitely more ‘approachable’ by the average person.

An email from a desperate friend sends journalist Samantha Dempsey to Marin County north of San Francisco to investigate The Daughters of Freya, a cult that believes sex is the solution to the world’s problems. But she soon finds out there is more to the cult than meets the eye.

A ‘real time’ email mystery delivered straight to your inbox.

The mystery is told through emails exchanged between journalist Samantha Dempsey and the other characters. But instead of reading these emails in a book, they’ll be delivered straight to your inbox, just as if the characters have copied you on the emails they’re sending to each other.

China orders all blogs to register

This is saddening. The second largest group of internet users in the world has just had their rights beaten, strangled, shot, hung, burned, and pissed on for good measure… again.

That’s not progress, thats just wrong.

Nick… an early riser?

If you know me well, you know I’m a night owl and love to sleep late… but I think I can change. At least Steve Pavlina thinks I can… I just read How to Become an Early Riser and I’m inspired to try it.

I will arise at 6:00 am until further notice.

It’s going to suck at first, but if I can get into a rhythm… I think it’ll be very good for me. I’ll be at work early, get home early, and have some time between work and the myriad of 7:00 pm events in my life. I will feel tired and go home at a reasonable hour.

I will. Really I will. Kicking the caffiene will help ;-)

Updates to follow.

An Exquisite Corpse

The first exquisite corpse I participated in has posted. It turned out well I think. My slice is a second from the top (divide the image in fouths mentally). Apparently, my leaving the next person mostly white was a bit unorthodox, but it worked out amazingly exquisitely well. I’ve completed a slice for a second corpse… hopefully it turns out as well as this one did.
