I just retuned home from a week in the Boundary Waters. It was amazing. Absoultely incredible. I’ll try to write a longer more thoughtful post later, but I need a bit more time to process things. Anyways, here’s about 200 pictures that tell part of the story. They are broken into sets by day. Be sure to check out my cliff jump!

National Weekend of Prayer and Reflection for Darfur

On the weekend of July 15-17, congregations across America will be learning about the situation in Darfur, praying for the victims of violence, and taking action on their behalf. We hope that your religious community will also participate.

Please contact your religious leader to encourage participation in this important spiritual program and know that you are helping to make a difference in the lives of those suffering in Darfur. For more information and materials, visit www.SaveDarfur.org/faith.

Date in Tray

I found a little freeware app the other day, and I love it.

Problem:
I constantly use the Windows clock to check dates… except it’s not really designed for that (bad UI for date checking) and if you’re not careful, you can end up accidentally changing Window’s internal date.

Solution:
Crispy Bytes DateInTray solves all of those issues, offering easy navigation and no chance of mucking things up – and it shows the current day right there in your system tray.

Nifty.

Comments… or lack therof

It appears that comments have been broken for 2-3 months.

I don’t know what I did to fix it- I removed backgammon from my blacklist… but I doubt all y’all were commenting on backgammon. I should have know something was up when the spam comments stopped.

Anyways, comments are working again… so if you had something really profound to say, feel free to… ummm… say it again.

On a side note: I managed to keep blogging regulary despite getting zero feedback… so that’s a good sign!

Blog tag?

Crazy idea: blog tag…

You leave a comment on someone’s blog saying “Tag! You’re it!” linked to an instruction page explaining the rules. They then repeat the process on a different blog. It could go on forever…

Stupid? Dunno. I’ve seen some stupid memes before ;-)

Caught in their spell

I can see so clearly now… but I’m still hooked…

I returned Hotel Rwanda (I’ll post about that later) and… ate breakfast at McD’s instead of Brueggers (the plan).

I then used my free rental to get Hitch — the movie I wanted to rent yesterday but they were all out.

Now I will be making another trip to McD’s in the next 24 hors to return Hitch. I will try to resist the urge to get a McFlurry, but it will be very, very hard ;-)

Not only am I hooked, but I told all my co-workers about it, blogged about it, and almost emailed all my friends about the FREE rental. Which exactly what they want me to do. Then again, besides the mass of uber-processed fatteing food in my belly, I’m really happy with RedBox (although the DVD skipped a few times), just not the restaurant in which it’s located!

Update: Hitch returned. No McFlurry action. No rental action. Cycle broken for now…
